June 3rd
So it is day 3 and I have not even left town!!! I took yesterday to pack and see what I need, really need and don't really need. When we get to Beijing and go to the differnt provinces, we go by plane. The limit for luggage weight during those flights (several) is 30 lbs!! If you are my sister or ever roomed with me at a Mary Kay function, you know that is just downright impossible! What makes it doubly impossible is that we have been told to carry 'tissue' (toilet paper) with you at all times!! Really?! It seems that the public 'bathroom' or rather 'Squatty potty' does not supply that necessity, so you carry it with you! How much would you use in 2 1/2 weeks?! Who knows! I packed 4 rolls! Ok, you can laugh, but really!!!!??? So, Paul decides to help me with his space bags and I lay on it to let the air out, but I guess that is not what you REALLY do! Nicole is helping me and she wants me to bring "EVERYTHING" 'just in case'! So, then I weigh my bag and it is 40 lbs! No bueno!! Then I start weighing all my peices of luggage to see what is the lightest. The first one I packed was only 3 lbs, but I couldn't get everything in, so I had to settle for the 6 pounder! 3 lbs. means a lot when you can only pack 30 lbs. I can't spend another minute on this packing! PACK light, they say! Ha! I have 3 1/2 more days to do tons of Mary Kay work (don't tell anyone, but we don't work in MK, we play!!) So, I have quite a few people I am playing with tonight and several tomorrow! I will keep you posted! Enjoy my packing pics! I was laughing so hard trying to get the air out! oh, here's an idea for you, my friend, Gill Gladding, taught me to use a straw to suck the air out! I hyperventilated!!!!
HAHAHAHA!!! I LOVE IT! You are cracking me up! I will pray for all of you! I am soooo excited for you all! How fun is this!! Love ya!
ReplyDeleteOk...this is too familiar looking! Not surprised you're trying to fit 100 lbs of clothing in a 6 lb bag. LOL Keep the stories coming.
